While you can develop your own resume format, we suggest using one of the resume templates we provide above.  They can be used as-is or can be tailored to fit the aesthetic you are after. (Pro-Tip: Click the "Downloads" button at the top of this page)

Ultimately, your template should make you look organized and professional. That’s the whole goal. But it should also do some of the heavy lifting to present you well to future employers. When you look at the options, ask yourself a few basic questions:

Does this match my field?

If you are aiming for a job in business, finance, or consulting, you might look for a straightforward template that fits you like a tailored suit.

If you are aiming for a job in a creative field or one in tech, you might want to show more creativity or your advanced formatting/coding skills.

Does it show off my strengths?

If your previous work experience is strong and plentiful, highlight your jobs up top. This will draw attention to the work you've already done.

If you're still looking for a first internship, pick a template that starts with skills and education so you can show those off first.

Is it easy to read quickly?

A recruiter should be able to understand who you are in a few seconds. For high demand jobs, you may get as little as 20 seconds..

Make every second count: if the template you chose makes your work experience look crowded or confusing, choose another one.
